Mobility Scooters
Please note that Lynwood benefits from a scooter housing and recharging facility.
Beneficiaries must indicate on their application form if they need to use an electrically-powered vehicle as we are only able to accommodate a limited number of such vehicles. It should be noted that the coach company are not able to transport such vehicles.
Any beneficiary needing to use an electrically-powered vehicle should be aware that the YMWCH preferred policy is that beneficiaries should hire a scooter locally rather than take their own.

Should beneficiaries prefer to take their own mobility scooter they MUST contact the Pontefract office on 01977 703384 to see if this is possible. YMWCH need to ensure beneficiaries have adequate insurance cover which should include third party public liability cover and not just damage to their own electrically-powered vehicle. Furthermore, YMWCH will need to be supplied with a copy of this insurance documentation at least 2 weeks prior to the date of admission to the home. Parking spaces are limited at the Home therefore, if possible, a permit will be supplied for you in advance to display in your vehicle and park on the premises. If no spaces are available Scarborough Council operate a pay and display car park adjacent to the Home. Do not park at the Home if you have not been issued a permit.
It is imperative that guests DO NOT ARRIVE BEFORE 3.30pm on the day of admission.
NO beneficiary will be allowed to take such vehicle to the home without a prior arrangement and without having produced the above documentation.
